A brief biography
I was born and raised in Canada, near the town of Bradford, Ontario.
Growing up on a farm instilled in me an appreciation for nature. I realized early in life the importance of a healthy environment and the weather, not only to farmers but to all of us here on earth. This appreciation for nature lingers on and continues to be a source of interest and pleasure.
It seems that I was not destined to make a career of farming, and thanks to my father and a very perceptive high school principal, I found my niche in the world of "High Tech", after graduation from college.
This wonderfully exciting career took me to many interesting places across Canada, the United States and France, where my tasks included installing and maintaining computer hardware and software for a variety of businesses.
This career came to an abrupt end after "9/11" and through a very interesting quirk of fate I discovered myself conducting tours and wine tastings at a winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
In 2006, after my wife of 40 years lost her two year battle with cancer, I decided to turn another page in my life and chose to relocate and retire.
In my short career in the wine industry I developed a passion for wine and its production. This passion is one of the things that motivates me today and is largely responsible for the creation of this website.
